Welcome to Flying J Dairy Goats. Thank you for your interest in our small herd of Alpines, LaManchas, and Experimentals. We have grown from having just a few into a very competitive dairy herd. Our first LaMancha was purchased in 1998. I was actually looking at a Nubian milker to add to the herd when I saw this little doeling with no ears walk across the pasture. She was beautiful! She had what I later came to call the "WOW" factor. I just could not take my eyes off of her. A condition of the sale was that I would show her. I did, she won, and I was hooked! It took a little longer for my husband to come around. After the first kidding season when it came time to sell some kids, he just could not part with his favorite. My husband discovered the Alpine breed and that became his favorite. In 2005 we sold all but Jerry's favorite Alpine "Dot". Jerry couldn't stop dabbling in Alpines so I presented him with a junior kid for our anniversary, he bought back a fresh doe that we had sold, and a grandson to Dot. I guess if this keeps him in the show ring, what the heck. So, more Alpines are on the way. Now he attends every show he possibly can, sometimes with out me!

The year 2008 brings a year of new beginnings here at our farm. This year we have entered our herd in ADGA's DHIR Program. We also signed up for Linear Appraisal. We are excited to see just what is in the pail and how our animals appraise. Recently, I realized the importance of both programs while searching for animals out of state. If I couldn't see them, then next best thing was to look deeper into their pedigrees. The LA scores along with a picture gave me a good idea of how they would fit into our herd. DHIR offered not only milk records, but also an idea of how capacious the does may actually be. And most of all, I wanted that milking star and LA scores or 90 or better in our pedigrees. So, my goal this year is to have milking stars, good LA scores, and of course some of the girls ending up with Superior Genetic designations.

Our kids are raised on a strict CAE prevention program.  Every birth is attended and the kids are removed from their dams at birth.  All kids are raised on heat treated colostrum and pasteurized goat milk.  We feed both alfalfa and a broad leaf hay called sudan, and a 16% grain ration.  We have a stringent health and worming program.  At this time we offer no outside breeding.  Semen is available at the farm.

We require a $75.00 non refundable deposit  all kids with the balance due within two weeks of notification of birth.  If the balance is not received the kid will be offered to the next person on our list and your deposit is forfeit.  If possible, please select a 2nd choice kid. If both choices are unavailable, your deposit will be refunded.  All prices include delivery to DFW airport.  All shipping costs, health certificates and crates for shipping are buyer's responsibility.  Prices are not guaranteed  for kids ordered after birth. All kids are sold in the order of which payments are received,  no exceptions please.  We guarantee all kids are in excellent health upon shipping. We do not guarantee mammary on does who are not mature and fresh at time of sale.
